What is VITAL?
The VITAL Initiative is a newly founded women and minority-led non-profit organization that helps bridge the gap between underserved communities and the resources they need.
We began by addressing the problem.
Too many people face barriers to the healthcare and legal resources they need, and these challenges are often connected. Limited access to healthcare can affect a person’s ability to seek justice, while legal and systemic barriers can make it harder for individuals to access the treatment, care, and support necessary for their health and well-being.
So what does VITAL do about it?
At VITAL, we help connect underserved communities with the medical, legal, and educational resources they need. These resources include low-cost medical and legal clinics, affordable healthcare services, legal aid programs, and a handful of educational workshops, allowing individuals to better advocate for themselves and help foster healthier, more empowered communities.
We do this by:
CONNECTING
People with preventative healthcare and community resources.
EDUCATING
Communities about their health, rights, and available resources.
ADVOCATING
For solutions that address the systemic barriers thousands of communities face.
EMPOWERING
Individuals with the knowledge and connections they need in order to advocate for themselves.
The VITAL Initiative does not provide medical or legal services. Instead, we help people find and connect with the resources and organizations that can.
